Post-Dobbs Reflections

It’s been two years since the Dobbs decision sent abortion back to the states and many are reviewing the impact it has had.

Author Katie Yoder noted in this Our Sunday Visitor article, “National pro-life organizations are responding to the increase in abortion by continuing their work to protect the dignity and worth of every human person, particularly that of the unborn…As president of Feminists for Life, Serrin Foster pointed to their help site, WomenDeserveBetter.com, which provides information on a variety of issues, from work and home life to education and relationships.”

FFL President Serrin Foster offers further post-Dobbs reflections: “The federal government, states, schools, workplaces and men that embrace abortion send the message: it’s your body. It’s your choice. And it’s your problem.

“In addition, fear-mongering against having children with disabilities is pressuring more women to seek abortions. Instead we need to support these women and welcome these children and tell the nation that pro-lifers support resources and unconditional love for mothers.

“We need to be louder in our efforts to tell women that pregnancy might be a detour, but with lots of help around you at pregnancy resource centers and FFL’s helpsite womendeservebetter.com, it doesn’t have to be a dead end. Women deserve better than abortion and every baby deserves life and love.”

Many of the post-Dobbs issues being debated were covered in the most recent issues of The American Feminist, “The Missing Peace” and “Strong As A Mother.”
