Women Deserve Better than Playing Russian Roulette with Abortion Pills

(See below for the full letter)

After an investigation of insurance claims revealed devastating side effects of abortion pills, over one hundred pro-life organizations including Feminists for Life of America have united to urge Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. and Commissioner Martin Makary of the FDA to “put the safety of women first and take a serious look at the data showing chemical abortion is neither safe nor effective.”

A new study by the Ethics and Public Policy Center shows that the rate of major complications from the abortion pill may be 22 times higher than the FDA claims. Approximately 10.9% of these prescriptions led to “serious adverse events” including ER visits, sepsis, infections, hemorrhages, or surgeries.

“This study is the statistical equivalent of a category 5 hurricane hitting the prevailing narrative of the abortion industry,” Ryan Anderson an author of the study said. “It reveals, based on real-world data, the shocking number of women who suffer serious medical consequences because of the abortion pill.”

“Feminists for Life of America urges the FDA to immediately review this report and remove chemical abortion pills from the market,” said FFL President Serrin Foster. “Women have testified through their insurance claims.”

Comparing abortion pills to playing “Russian roulette,” the creator of the Women Deserve Better® campaign added, “Women deserve better than a poison pill – and all little ones deserve a chance to grow up and be loved. Resources and support are paramount.”
