When the Dobbs decision was handed down, abortion advocates went into a frenzy. Their movement rallied a fear-mongering cry: that more abortion bans would directly lead to more maternal deaths.
But four years later, their narrative has not come to fruition. A new study published on April 3, 2026, was unable to find a correlation between abortion bans and a higher maternal mortality rate.
