Protect Pregnancy Resource Centers that Support Women & Children NOW!

Feminists for Life of America Endorses H.R. 2226 Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act

“We have seen abortion providers and their allies try to stop non-profit pregnancy resource centers in numerous states. These anti-woman, anti-choice efforts do nothing to meet the needs of women, especially the young, the poor, and women of color.” said FFL President Serrin Foster. “Discrimination against non-profit pregnancy resource centers is not ‘pro-choice.’ ”

U.S. Representatives Chris Smith, Claudia Tenney and Michelle Fischbach have unveiled the Let Pregnancy Centers Serve Act of 2025, H.R. 2226, which will prohibit federal, state, and local governments from discriminating against pregnancy care centers because of their life-affirming mission.

“There are more than 2,700 pregnancy care centers throughout the United States—each and every one of them an oasis of love, compassion, empathy, respect, and quality care for both mothers and their precious children,” said Rep. Smith, co-chair of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus“Yet state governments like my state of New Jersey and some lawmakers seek to discriminate against pregnancy care centers by violating fundamental conscience rights to compel complicity in abortion.”

Pregnancy resource centers (PRC) provide an array of free support and vital resources for pregnant women and their unborn children. They most frequently include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STD/STI tests, prenatal education programs, parenting education programs, after-abortion support, lactation consultations, certified dietician and nutritionist consultations, and well-women exams. They deal with many complex issues like domestic abuse and financial crises. Many offer translators. “The big difference is that they do this for free. They do not bill the patient or the government,” said Foster.

“The American people recognize the crucial services provided by pregnancy centers,” said Smith. According to a January 2025 poll83 percent of Americans support pregnancy care centers, including 80 percent of the individuals who identify as ‘pro-choice.’

Statistics provided by Rep. Smith’s office demonstrate the need and effectiveness of PRCs. Over the course of one year alone (2022):

  • Pregnancy centers provided more than 3.2 million client sessions and received a 97.4 percent client satisfaction rate.
  • 808,737 clients received free goods and services worth at least $367 million, including packs of diapers, baby formula, baby clothes, new cribs, and strollers.
  • More than 44,900 Americans have volunteered at pregnancy care centers, and over 10,000 medical staff and volunteers provided care to clients, including performing 546,683 free ultrasounds, estimated to be worth $136 million.
  • Over five years, the lives of more than 828,130 unborn babies were saved through the work of pregnancy care centers.

“Women deserve better,” said Foster, the creator of the Women Deserve Better® Campaign. “Resources and support make the difference of a lifetime for both mother and child.”
