In the upcoming issue of The American Feminist, we explore the various facets of motherhood in ways we have never done before. More on this later!

As we enter the final editing stages of this issue, we want to let you decide on the cover! Often times, Black mothers and their children are at higher risk of abortion, maternal mortality, and less represented when discussing motherhood. To that end, we offer you option 1: “Motherhood” featuring a powerful image of a Black Mother and teen daughter.

Our second option, “Portraits of Motherhood” features a diverse gallery of mothers and their children at different stages of life, highlighting the variety of motherhood relationships.
